Syttende Mai Parade

Depart school (yellow bus) at 4:30, marching band attire. Parade starts at 6 p.m.

The parade begins at the corner of NW 62nd and 24th Avenue NW. The route follows south to Market Street and eastward to Bergen Place park, then turns right onto 22nd and continues south down Ballard Avenue and ends at Dock St.

Option for students to return home with parents/guardians (let Mr. Aguilar know!); otherwise, return bus leaves for RESMS by 8:15, pick up students at RESMS at 8:30 p.m.

Global Fest Parade

Wind Ensemble members of the Marching Band only.

Parade: 1-2 pm
Festival 2-5 pm

Highline College’s Global Student Ambassadors hosts Global Fest, marking the culmination of Unity through Diversity Week. Parade of nations and food trucks — East parking lot of campus.

Buses depart RESMS at 11:15, return at 3:30.

This concert will feature musicians from elementary, middle, and high school and will culminate in a combined piece involving all students! It’s a chance to show the community the progression of the Seattle Public Schools instrumental music program from the levels of elementary through high school and to attract and retain students to the program.

Candy Cane Lane is a neighborhood of decorated homes in the University District: 21st Ave NE and NE Park Rd, just north of Ravenna Boulevard.

The caroling band is a smaller ensemble, made up of players from Wind Ensemble.

EBMEA Solo & Ensemble Middle School Festival

ALL MUSICIANS: Band instruments. Orchestra instruments. Voice.

Students choose to prepare a solo or ensemble piece and present it to a panel of well-renowned and acclaimed adjudicators. The students will receive feedback on their playing and a rating based on their performance. Unlike its high school counterpart, this festival is non-competitive, but rather a chance to showcase the individual learning of students by playing repertoire outside of their regular school music.

Entry deadline: (extended!) Wednesday, Feb 28

Fee: $18 for solo, $28 for ensemble (divided amongst the group)
