Choir at Robert Eagle Staff
Choir members sing pieces from different styles, including folk songs and show tunes. They have an opportunity to sing in large and small ensembles -- and an opportunity to perform at Friday open mics.
Gavin Hayes received his BM in Vocal Performance from Western Washington University in 2008, and his Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance in 2011 at Indiana University, where he was a student of Andreas Poulimenos.
Mr. Hayes has also sung with the Seattle Opera Chorus, the Bay View Music Festival in Michigan, and in the Princeton Music Festival. He has recently enjoyed work in the recording industry as a bass vocalist for the Aire Born recording studios in Indianapolis, where he sang for clients including Hal Leonard, Boosey and Hawkes, Lorenz, J.W. Pepper, and Universal Productions.
Mr. Hayes is a member of the American Guild of Musical Artists, and has trained as a post-baccalaureate candidate at the WWU Woodring College of Secondary Education to teach general, instrumental, and choral music. He holds a residency certificate to teach P-12 music in the state of Washington.
He currently lives in Kenmore with his piano, drums, and guitar, and he teaches general vocal music classes and choirs at Licton Springs K-8 and Robert Eagle Staff Middle School.
Mr. Hayes encourages the question, "If I can hear only myself, then am I too loud?"
