2020-2021 Musical Highlights:

The RESMS music program has a lot to be proud of during this remote year of music education at RESMS. Check out some of the many ways this school year has been a success:

  • $5000 software purchase for all RESMS music students. FORESMA purchased individual student subscriptions in September ($15/music student = $5000 total) for Upbeat Music App allowing students to engage better with remote learning, foster social connections, and stay motivated to continue with their music studies.

  • 2020/2021 Winter Concert Series virtual performances arranged by our band teacher, Mr. John Aguilar. Please see our Performance Recordings & Videos page.

  • Raven Haven— a weekly podcast launched by our guitar & orchestra teacher, Mr. Chris Mena. Please see our Weekly Podcast Ravens Havens page.

  • Black History Month collaboration performance with professional singer Kevin Ross. Please see our Performance Recordings & Videos page.

  • Grants awarded for RESMS music projects:

    • Woodland Park Players $500 grant for Protest Songs Project— a 2022 Black History month project with local musician Ben Hunter and RESMS music students

  • Orchestra coaches hired for in-depth group orchestra lessons to enhance remote instruction and keep students engaged for remainder of the school year for $4100

  • Successful fundraising events for music accessibility for current RESMS students and future RESMS music student opportunities:

    • $1425 raised from our fall flowers/veggie box fundraiser

    • $2400 raised from our fall Holiday Greens fundraiser

    • $660 raised from our winter Chipotle/Northgate fundraiser
