The mission of FORESMA is to ensure access to music education for all interested Robert Eagle Staff students. We foster community that nurtures musical arts among our students, and we raise funds to help build and run a robust music program.
Specifically, our priorities for funding include:
- Acquisition and maintenance of musical instruments (supplemental to what is provided by Seattle Public Schools)
- Small-group instruction (instrument coaching)
- Library of sheet music
- Off-site events: regional festivals and parades
- Signature student experiences like competition at Wild Waves and Silverwood
Funds we raise can offset the cost per student of participation, and in some cases can make or break whether an activity is available at all.
We request a $40 enrichment fee per student in the music program. If the fee is beyond your means, please request a scholarship from your student's teacher. If you want to contribute more than $40, your gift can be used toward scholarships.
Watch for our fundraising events, where you have an opportunity to socialize with the RESMS music community. These gatherings usually involve student-performed music and delicious food! Please plan to attend, or--better yet--volunteer to help out.
The best way to stay on top of all these activities is to sign up for our newsletter.
